If you want the lightest mountain bike from Cannondale, this is it. The F-Si is Cannondale’s flagship cross-country hardtail race bike, and features a full carbon frame and lightweight 100mm travel Lefty fork. Designed with racing in mind, the F-Si uses sharp geometry to deliver precision handling for its pilot. Along with lightweight wheels, fast-rolling tyres and a forward-leaning riding position, the F-Si is well equipped to take on the demands of World Cup XCO racing. Not so fussed on racing and just want to ride for fun? Then you may want to look at a full suspension mountain bike such as the Habit, or the Beast Of The East plus hardtail. But if your heart beats for the racetrack and you’re looking for a no-compromise weapon to punch up the climbs and slither down the descents, then the F-Si is purpose built for your competitive spirit.

A far cry from the scary hardtail race bikes of old, the F-Si Carbon has seen significant evolution over the years to increase its versatility, while maintaining its incredibly low weight and rock-solid pedal efficiency. To create a more capable bike, Cannondale reworked the geometry on the F-Si by slackening out the angles and increasing the bike’s top tube length. This makes the F-Si better suited to running a short stem and wide handlebar, both of which increase the bike’s descending abilities. Cannondale has also increased overall compliance by engineering built-in micro suspension in the F-Si’s rear triangle. Slender stays allow for better vibration absorption, which leads to a more comfortable ride while allowing the rear tyre to stay glued to the ground. Hardcore racers need not be concerned however, as the F-Si’s sharp handling has been retained thanks to the frame’s beefy downtube and massive BB30 bottom bracket junction. Combined with the precise Lefty fork up front, the F-Si delivers sharp steering and powerful acceleration when you need it most.

The F-Si is available in both carbon and alloy versions, starting with the top-value F-Si Alloy 3, and topping out at the high-end F-Si Carbon 2, which features a slick Shimano XTR 1x11 drivetrain and carbon wheels.
