Believe it or not, but not every rider out there is interested in being a hardcore racer. If you’d rather spend your spare time on social road rides with your mates than racing around in circles on a criterium race track, then an endurance road bike like the Synapse Carbon is likely the right choice for you. Equipped with much of the same technologies as Cannondale’s SuperSix EVO race bike, the Synapse Carbon is still a lightweight and high performance road bike, but it offers a more relaxed riding position that puts less strain on your neck and back. That makes it the ideal choice for riders who want a comfortable road bike they can take out for long weekend road rides in the mountains, while also dabbling in a bit of racing from time to time.
The Synapse Women’s comes into the Cannondale line up as a women’s specific version of the Synapse Carbon. This means the headtube us a little taller, and the reach is a little shorter to better suit female proportions. Cannondale has also spec’d female specific contact points such as the saddle, handlebars and stem, so you get a better fit out of the box without need to swap parts around just to get the bike comfortable. Otherwise it features the same BallisTec carbon fibre construction as the unisex Synapse Carbon frame, which helps to deliver impressively low weight. To assist with soaking up impacts from hitting potholes and cracks in the bitumen, Cannondale has created in-built suspension in the Synapse Carbon chassis, which allows the carbon frame to flex and soak up road vibrations. The result is a magic carpet ride that helps to isolate road buzz from the contact points.
The top-level Synapse Carbon Women’s comes equipped with electronic shifting courtesy of a Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset, and features lightweight Mavic wheels and Cannondale’s own Si cranks.
