Charging past its 10th birthday in 2017, the Giant Anthem comes from a long lineage of cross-country race technology that has seen it perform at the highest levels of mountain bike racing all around the globe. The latest Anthem highlights the Taiwanese company’s constant evolution of their flagship full suspension race bike, turning it into a lighter, faster and more capable XC trailblazer than ever before. Looking for an efficient dual suspension race bike to cover a lot of ground quickly? The Anthem is an ideal option, which gives you more comfort and stability than a hardtail.
Compared to the previous Anthem, the new version is entirely new from the ground-up. Rear suspension travel has been increased to 110mm, and it features a redesigned one-piece forged composite linkage that helps to increase rear-end stiffness, while simultaneously minimising side loading on the rear shock. Matching the increase in rear wheel travel, fork travel now sits at 120mm to help kick back the geometry for better stability when descending. The Anthem 27.5 is of course built around 27.5” diameter wheels, which offer responsive acceleration and plenty of pop and playfulness on the trail. Combined with the Boost hub spacing, thru-axles and redesigned frame, the new Anthem offers more confidence and capability when the trail gets rough.
You can get the Anthem with an alloy or carbon frameset, starting from the base-level Anthem 27.5 3, though each Anthem features the same geometry and suspension design. Dropping weight with its carbon frame, the top-level Anthem Advanced 27.5 0 features a 1x12 drivetrain, carbon wheels and a Giant Contact SL dropper post.
