Are you the kind of person who spends all week long hanging out for the weekend so you can get out on your bike? Love the idea of disappearing off into the mountains for an epic all-day adventure? If you’re the kind of rider who loves to go long and get away from it all, the Giant Defy is your ticket to freedom. Built with comfort in mind, the Defy is Giant’s endurance road bike. It features a longer wheelbase for greater stability when descending, a taller head tube for a more upright riding position, and a finely tuned frame and seatpost that deliver impressive vibration damping.
Compared to the Defy Advanced, the Defy Advanced Pro adds in a full carbon fibre fork to help reduce weight and further increase vibration damping. The frame itself uses T-700 carbon fibre, which is manufactured in Giant’s own Taiwanese factory with a highly specific layup pattern. This helps to keep weight low, and it also allows the frame to be built stronger and stiffer where required. As a result, the Defy achieves crucial torsional rigidity at key junction points such as the bottom bracket and head tube. Combined with the stiff wheelset and front & rear 12mm thru-axles, the Defy chassis offers responsive steering and stable handling when the speeds increase. The Defy Advanced Pro models also come equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, which offer more braking control and less effort at the lever. That means you’ll have more confidence to enter a corner faster, brake later, and exit with more speed.
You can choose from two models in the Defy Advanced Pro range, with the Advanced Pro 0 getting an upgrade to 11-speed Shimano Ultegra Di2 shifting and a lighter weight Giant SLR1 disc wheelset.
