The latest TCX from Giant is a great example for the technological progression we’ve witnessed of the cyclocross scene in recent years, and particularly since the UCI lifted the ban on disc brakes. Using a lightweight carbon fibre frameset that borrows performance features and technologies from the award-winning Defy endurance road bike, the TCX Advanced Pro is purpose built for disc brakes, complete with 12mm thru-axles and masses of tyre clearance. It uses race-proven geometry that keeps the handling sharp for tight cyclocross race courses, but thanks to its tough frame and the ability to fit wider tyres, the TCX also makes for a great option for riding dirt roads and exploring rolling backcountry trails. Alternatively, fit some slick tyres on join your buddies on a bitumen training ride. Given how light the TCX carbon frame is, you’re really not giving up much in terms of speed compared to a dedicated road bike. Want one bike to do it all? It doesn’t get much more versatile than the TCX Advanced Pro.

You can get the TCX in both alloy and carbon versions, with the TCX Advanced Pro using a high-tech frameset that is built with T-700 carbon fibre in Giant’s own manufacturing facility. The Advanced grade carbon fibre is also used for the full-carbon fork, which has a tapered Overdrive steerer tube that adds strength and stiffness to the front of the TCX. Key Giant technologies include the square-shaped MegaDrive downtube, which connects the beefy head tube to the 86mm-wide bottom bracket shell. This delivers excellent stiffness when you’re reefing on the bars and lifting the front wheel over logs and rocks on the trail.

The TCX Advanced Pro models come standard with hydraulic disc brakes, 1x11 drivetrains and the vibration-soothing D-Fuse carbon seatpost for added comfort.
