The world of cycling is an ever changing culture and the "in" riding scene is constantly evolving. Right now, just about everyone is seeking the road less travelled in what has been coined adventure riding. An adventure isn’t a race or event of any kind but a leap into the unknown. It's the same feeling you had when heading out on your bike as a young kid. It's main roads, mountain bike trails, gravel tracks and everything in between. This is adventure riding. And the Giant Tough Road SLR is a worthy steed. Able to handle any terrain, manage the requisite gear strapped to you and your bike with relative comfort, this bike is going to handle anything you throw at it.

The Tough Road SLR has been designed around stability. Long chainstays help to provide a longer wheelbase that provides great stability on unsealed surfaces. And you will definitely notice this when flying over corrugations on remote gravel roads or unexpectedly braking when you realise you've carried too much speed into a corner. It’s all about confidence and stability over uneven terrain. Built on Giant's most advanced alloy frame, the ALUXX SLR-grade aluminium boasts some impressive strength to weight characteristics. This means that the frame is light and strong, yet has ample compliance making your ride comfortable even under the roughest conditions.

The Tough Road SLR is available in three models. All models share the same frame with the Tough Road SLR 3 starting the line up at the very affordable end of the spectrum. The SLR 2 comes with front and rear panniers ready for adventure straight out the shop door, so we see this as a popular choice given the bike’s intended use. For those of you who like a more refined drive train, the SLR 0 comes with a SRAM GX 1x11 drive train. Simple and reliable, the SLR 0 will suit those who want the ‘super commuter’ cum adventure bike.
