Based upon the highly successful Tarmac frame, the Amira is Specialized’s flagship women’s road race bike. Available in a full size range right down to a 44cm frame, the Amira proves that high performance should be available to all riders, and not just the blokes. Compared to the Tarmac, the Amira uses women’s specific geometry that includes a shorter reach to the handlebars that better suits the shorter torso length of the female form. The carbon layup is also different, and it is built upon Specialized’s size-specific system that sees the larger frames built thicker and stiffer for heavier riders, and vice versa. The result is the same ride feel whether you’re on an X-Small or a Large frame size. Combined with narrower handlebars and a women’s specific saddle, the Amira is designed to be an extension of your body to deliver pure performance on the racetrack.
All of the Amira models are built with a full carbon frame and fork that features a tapered steerer tube and an oversized OSBB bottom bracket for stability and stiffness under power. Keeping the lines sleek are the internally routed cables, while integrated headset and bottom bracket bearings ensure smooth performance that’ll go the distance too. Every tube on the Amira frame has been scrutinised to remove as much material as possible, both to reduce weight but also to increase vibration damping for a smoother ride. The result is a superlight bike that flies up the climbs and accelerates at the mere whiff of a pedal stroke. If you want a road bike to race and go fast on, the Specialized Amira is an excellent high-performance choice.
Available in multiple models from the Amira Sport through to the Amira S-Works, each model comes with an 11-speed groupset, wide-range gearing for getting up steep climbs, and a compact handlebar for better comfort in the drops.
