The sport of mountain biking is now over forty years old. That's quite impressive when you think about it, but even more impressive is just how much the modern mountain bike has evolved from those early days of fully rigid mountain bikes with skinny tyres and crappy brakes. Modern mountain bikes have progressed to become lighter, smoother, more comfortable, and easier to ride than ever before. The Specialized Women's Turbo Levo Hardtail encompasses much of this evolution into the single bike, whilst adding in the power of a 250 Watt electric motor. Known as an 'ebike', the Women's Turbo Levo Hardtail is just like riding a regular mountain bike, but getting a little extra push on the climbs. Because the electric motor is a pedal-assist design, you have to be pedalling for it to kick in. That means you still get a good workout, and you still have to earn your turns. The difference is that you can ride further, for longer and a lot faster too. If that doesn't open up new riding opportunities for you and your buddies, then we don't know what will!
While other brands rely on bolt-on motors and battery systems, Specialized believed there was a better way. On the Women's Turbo Levo hardtail, they've integrated the 250 Watt motor system into the bottom bracket of the frame, which places the weight low down for a very stable feel on the trail. The battery itself is integrated into the frame's downtube, which offers a very svelte and clean look. In fact, it's kind of hard to spot that the Turbo Levo is actually an ebike. The frame itself is made from lightweight and durable aluminum, and it uses a women's specific geometry that is ideally suited towards shorter and lighter female riders. A women's saddle ensures the Turbo Levo is comfortable to ride, while the upright riding position decreases the strain on the riders back while pushing on the pedals. Combined with smooth hydraulic disc brakes, adjustable suspension and a simple 1x drivetrain, the Women's Turbo Levo Hardtail is designed to be an absolute pleasure to ride.
